Review of The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
Macy is that girl. The girl who saw her father die. Everyone she knows looks at her sympathetically. But Macy doesn't care about that. She just wants to stay in control and be perfect. She is doing just that after a year and half of her father's death when she runs into the Wish Caterers. They are the complete opposite of her life. Where everything in Macy's life is perfect theirs is filled with chaos. After a suggestion of a break time from her boyfriend Jason, Macy has had enough of her boring life. Trying to be perfect for her mother, sister and her boyfriend. On a whim she joins the Wish caterers and finally believes she has finally found a place where she can be herself and also fit in. Her new friends also include Wes. Who builds art sculptures out of junk when he is not catering. Macy finds herself connecting with him. But what happens when her on break boyfriend returns from camp at the end of summer? The story as well as the characters are amazing. As the story progresses you can see the characters grow and come out of their shell. Macy and Wes are both written as fabulously as they could have been. Overall I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves YA Contemporary, cause this is one of the best contemporary books I've ever read.
